The NSS4U24SA-SS RAID subsystem is powered by dual-active or a single RAID controller. Each RAID controller comes with four (4) SAS multi-lane host ports that are defined as IN ports and OUT ports. The OUT ports can be used to connect the IN ports of other NSS4U24SA-SS systems in order to expand capacity and to multiply RAID computing power. By cascading NSS4U24SA-SS enclosures on the host links, the throughput from multiple systems can be joined and the 12Gbps bandwidth per port can be leveraged.
The EonStor NSS4U24SAR-SS RAID subsystem is powered by
dual-active or a single RAID controller. Each RAID controller comes
with four (4) SAS multi-lane host ports that are defined as IN ports
and OUT ports. The OUT ports can be used to connect the IN ports of
other A24S systems in order to expand capacity and to multiply RAID
computing power. By cascading NSS4U24SAR-SS enclosures on the host
links, the throughput from multiple systems can be joined and the
12Gbps bandwidth per port can be leveraged.
The NSS4U24SAR-SS RAID enclosure is designed with all the
sophisticated high availability features including redundant RAID
controllers, a common backplane, dedicated cross-controller ‘sync.
cache’ channels, redundant cooling and power supply modules. Highest
performance and spindle density is achieved within the compact
design which provides dozens of terabytes in a 4U chassis.
The NSS4U24SAR-SS takes advantages of SAS interface technology in
terms of its ease of cabling and many folds of bandwidth compared
with its SCSI predecessors. The system accommodates high capacity
and low-cost SATA-II 3Gbps disk drives. With the additional cascade
ports, RAID or expansion enclosures can be easily attached to
include a total of an astonishing 264TB capacity (using 1TB SATA
drives). As a capacity champion, the NSS4U24SAR-SS does not
compromise on its data protection functionality. The NSS4U24SAR-SS
supports RAID levels 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, multi-level logical volumes, and
all the renowned firmware functionality as other EonStor series
models.
If using 1TB SATA drives in this
configuration, a maximum of 264TB
capacity can be included for a
direct-attached configuration. SAS
cables are strung along the cascade
ports of the 3 RAID enclosures, and
expansion enclosures are attached to
each RAID system.
