Backup and archive infrastructure is judged on the day something fails. NTS builds backup targets around two numbers most quotes ignore: how long a full restore takes at your required throughput, and whether the copy an attacker reaches can actually be altered or deleted.
Designs combine dense HDD enclosures for cost per terabyte, flash landing zones for fast ingest and instant recovery, and object or immutable tiers for retention and compliance. Everything is integrated, firmware-leveled, and burned in at Fremont, CA, and can be ordered on federal, defense, and SLED contract vehicles.

From the protected data set, change rate, retention policy, and deduplication or compression assumptions - then from the restore side. NTS calculates usable capacity after erasure coding or RAID overhead, and confirms the design can restore at the throughput your recovery objective requires.
Assume the attacker has administrator credentials. NTS designs an immutable or object-locked tier with a separate credential domain, retention that cannot be shortened from the backup console, and optional offline or air-gapped copies so at least one recovery point is untouchable.
Both, in most designs. A flash landing zone absorbs the backup window and enables instant recovery of recent points, while dense disk carries retention at a much lower cost per terabyte. NTS models the crossover point so you are not paying flash prices for cold data.
Enclosures are populated, firmware-leveled, and burned in before shipping, with drive maps, rack elevations, and as-built documentation. NTS can also stage the backup software or object stack so the system enters service as a working target rather than raw hardware.
